Another option in the name of both groups has been approved by the Central Election Commission. Uddhav Thackeray’s group has been named ‘Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’. So they have been given the symbol ‘Mashal’. Also, the Shinde group has been given the name ‘Shiv Sena of Balasaheb’.

Uddhav Thackeray had demanded the symbol of Trishul. It cannot be given as it is a religious symbol. Shiv Sena leader Bhaskar Jadhav said that Uddhav Thackeray won in the first political maneuver. He also said that these three names include Balasaheb Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sena.

After freezing the Shiv Sena name and Dhanushyaban symbol, the Election Commission had directed both groups to substitute their symbols and names. The two groups then nominated three party names and three alternative symbols. The Election Commission gave this decision.
